What does the Medical Oncology Department do?

Medical oncology includes the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancer. Opportunities to treat cancer include treatments which can destroy cancer cells, slow the growth of cancer, prevent cancer from spreading, and reduce the symptoms from cancer.

What to expect if you are referred to Southwest Cancer Care for Medical Oncology?

At Southwest Cancer Care, diagnosis, treatment, and management will be directed by Dr. Sindhu who is a board-certified hematologist/oncologist. Doctors, nurses, clinical, and administrative staff work side-by-side to ensure that patients are being well-cared for in a holistic way. Each patient’s journey is different and we ensure that patients and their families are getting the most customized and personalized approach possible. By providing the most up-to-date treatment options including immunotherapy and targeted treatments, patients will benefit from options which maximize their ability to fight cancer and minimize suffering from unnecessary side effects.  This approach incorporates immunotherapy, biologic agents, and chemotherapy based upon proven science and evidence.
